Challenge

Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) has long struggled to scale in Europe, despite rising demand for telemedicine due to an aging population and overloaded healthcare systems. Millions of healthcare professionals rely on hundreds of health IT systems and face a fragmented home medtech ecosystem, where each vendor maintains its own app, cloud, and API. Elderly patients at home are often required to use their smartphones or Wi-Fi routers for device setup, creating barriers to access. While data privacy risks add further complexity, the lack of easy interoperability between home medtech vendors and health IT systems makes large-scale RPM deployments nearly impossible.

Solution

Medisanté’s innovation, M+Hub, redefines how medical IoT data is collected and how provisioned devices are managed. It is the first multi-vendor IoT platform for RPM that connects pre-configured medical devices directly to healthcare IT systems — without patient-side setup.

Connected by Vodafone IoT’s secure and globally available cellular networks, M+Hub enables healthcare providers to receive encrypted data in near real time from patients at home. Each device — or gateway aggregating BLE devices — includes a Vodafone IoT global SIM, ensuring seamless, compliant connectivity across more than 760 roaming networks worldwide.

By enabling one-minute patient onboarding within the RPM system and removing any device configuration via the patient’s smartphone or router, M+Hub ensures accessibility, security, and scalability — providing a true plug-and-play device experience for modern connected care.

Impact

Together with Vodafone IoT, Medisanté has built the digital infrastructure backbone for connected healthcare in Europe. More than 50 health IT systems have integrated M+Hub, allowing providers to securely collect GDPR-compliant IoT data from patients at home. Over 13,000 cellular IoT kits have been deployed, transmitting more than two million readings across 20+ countries.

The collaboration enables healthcare providers to scale remote care for chronic and post-acute patients alike. Cellular IoT kits powered by Medisanté connect out-of-the-box and benefit from global connectivity and local roaming to maximize coverage.
